I get it. There’s not a lot of reliable sources out there about what causes gut issues much less about how to accurately diagnose or effectively treat and manage them. There is, however, a ton of confusing and ineffective information.
I became a patient expert—because I had to.
Through a lifetime of looking for relief to my own gut pain, I’ve seen and tried it all—from colonoscopies and emergency room trips to acupuncture and Ayurveda.
When I was finally diagnosed with Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) in 2015, I was ecstatic to finally have a name for the symptoms that were making me so miserable. But I became quickly frustrated again by how hard it was to find reliable information about SIBO or doctors with experience treating the condition.
Fortunately, persistence is my superpower. Before making SIBO SOS® my mission, I’d spent years building a following as an HSN host. In that role, I did a ton of research, interviewed inventors, and tested things on myself to find the products my audience wanted and that I could confidently promote. I leaned hard into those skills over the next year, reading everything I could find on SIBO and travelling all over the country to meet with leading experts in the field. Basically, I became a patient expert—because if I wanted to heal from SIBO, there was no other choice.
I discovered I am not alone with my digestive issues—and neither are you.
If you have digestive issues, you know how incredibly isolating it can be. I initially set out to get answers about SIBO for myself, but along the way I met hundreds (and then thousands) of people who were also suffering from this very intimate anguish.
Ultimately, I got the information I needed and have been able manage my SIBO and IBS – but it wasn’t easy. And it made me angry that others like me were still suffering simply because they didn’t have access to accurate information or the right experts. So, I decided to make it my mission to start sharing what I’d found to help people like you on the journey back to health.
No one should have to suffer from IBS, SIBO, or any other digestive issue just because solutions are hard to find.
As of now, many medical professionals still lack adequate information about gut issues. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I wrote, Healing SIBO, so you could benefit from the information I’ve found.
Through the SIBO SOS® community, I share the latest research and innovations in gut health, offer courses to help you heal, and partner with leading experts—gastroenterologists, naturopaths, functional medicine practitioners, scientists, nutritionists, and others—who are the “best of the best” in digestive health.
Your journey to understand, treat, and manage your digestive issues will be your own. But you don’t have to go it alone. I’ll be here as your guide, advocate, support, and shoulder to cry on. I won’t tell you what to do, but I will give you the nudge, introduce you to people with answers, and always offer encouragement.
You deserve the answers you need to start healing so you can get back to living your life!
